HIGHLIGHT INFO

The St. Mary’s Ryken High School has a Scholars Program that features curriculum from the nationally recognized “Project Lead the Way." As a part of the Scholars Program, students can seek accelerated concentrations in biomedical, aeropsace engineering, computer science, global and international studies, humanities, and performing and visual arts. The program includes specialty field trips, community mentors and possible internship opportunities.

FACILITIES
The 87-acre campus includes an athletic stadium with professional grade turf and track, as well as a brand new, state of the art, health and wellness building. St. Mary's also has up to date technology, with extensive use of the iPads and other technology. The renovated Discovery Lab has 3-D printers, a wind tunnel, full-size robotics table, VR center and flight simulator lab.

SPORTS AND ARTS
St. Mary’s Ryken offers 26 varsity programs and 17 different sports. Over 70% of students participate in at least one of the school’s athletic programs. They are a member of the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference, considered one of the most competitive conferences in the country.
The arts program at St. Mary’s offers 25 courses ranging from ceramics and painting to jazz band and technical theater. Each year, the school produces two showcases, one drama and one musical.

COMMUNITY INFORMATION
Leonardtown is a historic town in southeast Maryland, founded in 1660. A coastal town, it is located immediately adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station, the home to the US Naval Test Pilot School, and Naval Air Systems Command. International students can enjoy nautical scenery and activities in a quaint, colonial town, while living in an area with many STEM professionals, and the Nation's Capital a short driving distance away.
