Kensington Park School is a private boarding school for students aged 14-17, located in one of London's most famous boroughs. A broad and balanced curriculum is delivered to students in small class sizes, in a modern, dynamic and technology-rich environment, preparing pupils for GCSE and A Level qualifications, and enabling them to develop skills that they need to succeed in a fast-paced and ever-changing world. As well as having teachers who are outstanding in their field, KPS provides students with the opportunity to become proficient in many sports and activities, developing in them a wide range of social and cultural interests through a broad and enhanced educational experience. Pastoral care is central to the school's ethos and is facilitated by experienced tutors who provide students with personal and academic support and invaluable university and career guidance for Sixth Form students. Just a stone’s throw away from the green spaces of Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, Kensington Park School provides students with an intellectually exciting environment in which they can learn, grow and reach their full potential.
Facilities
The school's uniquely modern facilities include science laboratories, a design studio (with a dark room) and a computing suite. In the Creative Hub, which centres on a recently refurbished theatre, students can be found in the art studio designing and making costumes using sewing machines. In the Mezzanine - the tech room - students compose and produce digital music and manage the theatre light and sound system. In the theatre itself, students can rehearse drama and musical productions which they may well have written themselves. Students can even make props for school plays using the laser printer!
Sports & Arts
The school believes that extra-curricular activities challenge young minds and bodies. The Imperial College Gym Club, football club, rugby club and netball club are all available to Kensington Park students. In addition, fun excursions such as the annual ski trip, West End shows, and the Duke of Edinburgh Award are always scheduled in to give students time to extend their learning beyond the classroom. The school provides exceptional facilities and support to its Art students and to those with an interest in getting creative in their spare time. Likewise, Drama is an important feature of the student experience at Kensington Park Sixth Form, with opportunities to get involved in school productions both on and off stage, and to benefit from easy access to London's world-class theatres.
Dormitories and Student Life
The school's boarding accommodation, Princess Beatrice House, is one of the best in the country. It is equivalent to a quality London hotel in terms of decor, space and furnishings and all within a safe, managed environment 24 hours per day. Students enjoy the unique atmosphere in the school as they are trusted and treated as young adults. The student body is wonderfully diverse and international, and students can pursue their interests and academic ambitions at the heart of the UK's capital city whilst making friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.
