Eastbourne College is based in the beautiful South Downs area of South East England in the seaside town of Eastbourne. Thanks to the high standard of teaching across a broad range of BTEC courses, the college boasts consistently outstanding examination results and in 2018 the pass rate was 97%. Eastbourne is also a private English language school with accreditation from the British Council for its English language provision and is renowned as one of the top English language providers in the UK.
Facilities
The college’s Eastbourne campus is well-connected to other nearby coastal towns. Thanks to this, Eastbourne College students can have a range of experiences and see different sights around the college area. The Eastbourne site offers a more traditional school campus environment when compared to its Hastings counterpart. Facilities on site include three coffee shops, a canteen, on-site gym, running track and playing fields, art shop and IT and learning centre.
It is also home to several specialist buildings including the Construction & Engineering workshops, Art & Photography studios, Motor Vehicle workshops and dedicated Catering & Hospitality and Hair, Beauty & Complementary Therapies centres.
Sports and Arts
Eastbourne College offers a range of sporting options to students, including Football, Netball and Rugby Academies which combine weekly training with professional coaching and competitions. Other sports such as Badminton, Basketball, Hockey, Golf, Squash, Table Tennis and Volleyball can be played in various teams. The college is also home to the East Sussex Academy of Music, where instrumental lessons and working with professional musicians is on offer, and the Performing Arts Academy, where staff with a wide range of industry experience and academic knowledge prepare students for a career in Dance, Drama, Music Theatre or Production.
Student Life
Both local and international students are warmly welcomed at Eastbourne College. The college has recently taken home an award for Excellence in International Student Support in Further Education from the National Union of Students and the UK Council for International Student Affairs, and prides itself on the well-rounded experience it can provide to those students arriving from overseas. With 100 international students at any one time, from around 15 different countries, this rich mix of cultures and backgrounds makes for a vibrant, exciting and welcoming learning community.
Eastbourne has been named one of the best seaside towns in the UK and the campus is a 10minute walk from Hampden Park train station with connections to Eastbourne town, Lewes, Brighton and the surrounding areas
