School and Academics

Mongazon is an esteemed private school situated in the picturesque city of Angers, occupying a sprawling 8-acre green campus. The school comprises both a middle and high school, as well as undergraduate classes. Founded in 1833 by Abbot Urbain Loir Mongazon, it has a rich history, with the chapel registered as a French historical monument. Today, the school offers over 23,000m2 of living space and can accommodate 2,250 students. With a strong mission and core values, Mongazon is dedicated to supporting students on their path to success and is proud to bear the label of a "lycée des métiers" (vocational high school) and is associated with UNESCO.

Facilities

The school's extensive campus provides state-of-the-art facilities, including sports grounds, two gymnasiums with climbing walls, and various specialized spaces such as a library, amphitheater, and media center, creating an ideal environment for both academic and extracurricular pursuits.

Sports and Arts

Mongazon places great importance on physical education, with two mandatory hours of PE per week. Additionally, Premiere and Terminale students have the freedom to choose from a variety of sports and elective options, including basketball, volleyball, dance, cross-country orienteering, rock climbing, and more. Music, art, Latin, and drama are also offered as electives, enhancing students' artistic and creative skills.

Boarding Accommodation

The boarding school at Mongazon is designed to provide personalized care and support to students, fostering values such as communication and compliance. Students live in a community and learn to respect one another, while the educational team works in partnership with families and teaching staff to ensure students succeed in all aspects of their adult life. Seconde and Première students are hosted on school grounds, with comfortable accommodation in dedicated buildings. Terminale students have single rooms in a separate building, encouraging open-mindedness and team bonding through various activities and sports.
The school follows a 5-day boarding system which means that during the weekend students will stay with a local French HF and boarding on campus during the week. T
