At The German Football Boarding School (or DFI as it's otherwise known) it’s possible to live the dream of many children and young people – they don’t have to choose between competitive sports and school: at DFI they get both. They dream of a professional career and are accompanied on this path.
Alongside rigorous soccer training, students are guided on their academic journey, with a focus on obtaining an individual high school diploma. By integrating the Cambridge International curriculum, the school offers a diverse range of classes, including instruction in English, providing students with a global perspective. Emphasizing education, the campus fosters a supportive environment where students, parents, teachers, and staff collaborate to nurture individuality and promote a sense of community. Facilities:
The German Football Boarding School is located on the B&O Park grounds in the Mietraching district of Bad Aibling, south of Munich. The site is a "garden city," an impressive concept that combines both working and living in one area. Former residential buildings, sports halls, a hotel, a bowling alley, a kindergarten, a school complex, workshops, warehouses, and office buildings were renovated and developed into a magnificent park area where the students of the German Football Boarding School can easily feel at home.
The school itself has a dedicated fitness/athletics area, rehab, club life, and much more. Everything is under one roof!
Sports and Arts:
Sports play a central role at DFI, with a primary focus on soccer training tailored to each player's needs. With dedicated coaching and up to 10 training sessions per week, students receive personalized feedback to enhance their skills on the field. Beyond sports, the school encourages artistic expression and holistic development, providing opportunities for students to explore their creative passions alongside their athletic pursuits.
At DFI, each player receives training tailored to their strengths and weaknesses four times a week in the morning session - thanks to a schedule designed to meet the needs of athletes. In the small field area, special emphasis is placed on clean technical execution with a high number of repetitions. The players receive permanent, targeted feedback and coaching from their coaches. In the large field area, the technical foundation will be further maintained and expanded. In addition, individual and group tactical, position-specific and athletic components are gaining importance.
Boarding:
DFI offers a nurturing boarding experience, with round-the-clock support from experienced personnel. From laundry and dining services to on-site transportation and medical care, students benefit from a caring and supportive environment that feels like home. With modern living spaces and recreational activities, boarding at DFI fosters a sense of community and belonging among students, enhancing their overall experience.

Located in the picturesque city of Bad Aibling, DFI offers students a diverse range of recreational opportunities. Surrounded by the Bavarian Alps and just a short drive from Munich, the area provides the perfect backdrop for outdoor adventures, from skiing and hiking to exploring cultural attractions. With easy access to Munich's vibrant city life and nearby sports facilities, students enjoy a well-rounded experience both on and off the field.
Just under 50 km from Bad Aibling lies Munich - the cosmopolitan city with a heart. It takes less than an hour to reach the Allianz Arena, where 75,000 enthusiastic football fans can cheer on the German record champion in one of the most beautiful and impressive stadiums in Germany.
