Since its founding in 1865, this coeducational college-preparatory boarding and day school has been dedicated to nurturing curious, creative, and confident learners and leaders. Cushing Academy offers a comprehensive curriculum for students in grades 9 through 12, including a postgraduate year. With an average class size of 12 and a student-to-faculty ratio of 6:1, personalized attention is a hallmark of the Cushing experience. The Academy provides over 130 courses, including Advanced Placement and Honors classes, across disciplines such as classical and modern languages, English, history and social sciences, mathematics, performing arts, and visual arts.

The Theodore Iorio Arena serves as the hub for the school's storied ice hockey program. Additionally, the Emily Fisher Landau Center for Visual Arts provides dedicated spaces for artistic exploration.

Cushing Academy's commitment to excellence is reflected in the achievements of its students and alumni. In recent years, 100% of graduating seniors who applied to colleges were accepted. Cushing visual artists have received numerous awards, including National Medals from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. The Academy's athletic teams have also garnered championships, such as the NEPSAC Class C Championship in girls' volleyball.
