St. Mary's Ryken: A Legacy of Excellence Along Breton Bay

Nestled on an 87-acre waterfront campus along Breton Bay in Leonardtown, Maryland, St. Mary's Ryken High School (SMR) stands as a beacon of Catholic, coeducational, college preparatory education. Sponsored by the Xaverian Brothers, SMR is dedicated to academic excellence and individualized student growth, serving approximately 700 students in grades 9 through 12.

Academic Rigor and Opportunities
At SMR, students are immersed in a rigorous academic environment that offers over 150 courses, including Advanced Placement and Honors classes. The curriculum is further enriched by Project Lead the Way programs in biomedical sciences, engineering with a focus on aerospace, and computer science emphasizing cybersecurity. Dual enrollment opportunities with the College of Southern Maryland allow students to earn college credits during their high school years.
