Sally and Dave in Florida

We have so many incredible Host Families who work with us here at Educatius. Every now and again we like to give a shoutout to a particular family. Today we would like to share our appreciation of Sally and Dave in Florida.

Sally and Dave raised three children and are now grandparents of seven grandkids! Still, they began to feel the weight of their empty nest when they retired from the military. While their hearts were very full, their home felt very quiet.

In 2017 Sally and Dave were inspired by a friend who was hosting an International Student and decided to give it a try; they never looked back! They are now passionate advocates of hosting international high schoolers. They love to share how hosting has brought a wealth of fullness and love back into their home. Their home is now a hub of activity with plenty of weekend plans, travel adventures and school events to keep everyone busy. Like any parent of a teen, Sally and Dave particularly enjoy taking the students to school events and watching them perform in theatre, chorus and band. They treat their students as if they were their own children and always keep an open door for them, even once their year abroad is over.

Sally and Dave have hosted fifteen exchange students and are proud of each single one; they like to say that they have children all over the world. They enjoy keeping in touch with all of their former students and always look forward to their visits. Sally and Dave have taken their empty nest and turned it into a welcoming haven of support and joy for teens around the world.
